Woburn Fun Run Series - various dates 6:30 PM

Each year, the Woburn Department of Recreation hosts a series of races around Horn Pond. The races all start near the Horn Pond parking lot. There will be a one mile race for the children of various age groups. All children will recent a finisher's ribbon. The general race will be open to everyone, and is 2.5 miles around Horn Pond. Ribbons will be awarded to the top 3 finishes of each male and female age groups. The dates for the races are:

  2. July 24 (Thursday) 6:30 PM
  3. July 31 (Thursday) 6:30 PM
  4. August 4 (Monday) 6:30 PM
  5. August 7 (Thursday) 6:30 PM

Fifth Annual Tomato Trot Kicks off Festival - August 23rd at 10:30 a.m.

The Fifth Annual Tomato Trot will be held on August 23rd at 10:30 a.m. in Granby, Massachusetts. The footrace will run through a working organic farm and kicks off Red Fire Farm’s 8th Annual Tomato Festival. The rural, cross-country race is open to runners and walkers of all ability levels and offers a unique and pastoral running experience. The rolling course winds along ancient stone walls, through pastures and fields of flowers and vegetables, and past an old apple orchard and a honeybee yard. It provides memorable views of the farm’s historic barn and modern greenhouses. Top finishers and raffle winners will take home a basket of fresh produce, including tomatoes, and other prizes.

Second Annual Steps 2 Cure NF - September 21

A 5 mile run and 2.5 mile walk to benefit Neurofibromatosis. More info to come.

28th Annual Irish-American Club 5-Mile Road Race and 3-Mile Health Walk - Sunday, October 5

Just like the years before, there will be three separate events:
1-Mile Fun Run (11:30 AM)
Shirts, prizes, ribbon and refreshments for kids ages 13 and under.

3-Mile Walk (noon)
Hospice sweatshirt (guaranteed for entries received by September 26th) and post race/walk amenities.

5-Mile Road Race (12:30PM)
Hospice sweatshirt (guaranteed for entries received by September 26th) and post race/walk amenities.

Amenities include free beer, food, raffles and award ceremony. The proceeds will benefit VNA Hospice Care, an non-profit Woburn based organization that provides end-of-life services to patients and their families in Woburn and the surrounding communities.
